I doubt it will end up having any practical value. Seems like just an experiment. I would guess the difference over a regular spark plug is not significant enough to overcome the extra cost and complexity.

Mitsubishi have a lean burn technology that uses microwaves to ignite/help ignite very lean mixtures.

I'm in mixed minds, but it's being looked at in a number of areas.

Are there some revelations that you have found in an action or an idea that gets better fuel economy for you?

I liked keeping the dog's head out of the airstream, HAHA! I wouldn't go that far, but I would tell'em to keep his ears back and flat, out of the airstream, for aerodynamic-drag purposes! HAHA!
