It was for me buying my new f150. The 20 inch made the ride too rough, especially coupled with the fx4 shocks. The ride is already a little rough with the aluminum bed and the 18 inch ride quite a bit better. And were white wall.


Yeah, i forgot, the gls have dual zone cl8mate control, nothing that i care about really
 
17 inch tires are small by today's standard, they will also be easier to purchase replacements for than the 16-inch wheel/tire combo.
 
I've had them both in the same size (Premiere and Defender) which would eliminate any differences based on a 16" or 17" tire. I have run them on 2 different cars (GS and LS400). I'd go with the Defender.
