I had i a set of Michelin Defender tires, 195/70-14 size, on my 2001 Cavalier. They were a fantastic tire except for tire noise which was noticeable immediately after they were installed and got worse as the mileage accumulated.
The Michelin defender T+H is not made in 215/55R16. The Premier A/S is made in your size but has 8.5/32 tread depth. I would recommend the Michelin Primacy MXM4 which has 10/32. The defender LTX is made in that size but is more designed for the Ford transit connect Vans.
