HELP!!!!
To correct a minor problem, this afternoon I went back to service department of local General Motors/BMW dealer where Mobil 1 Mercon V ATF was installed a few weeks ago.
To correct this problem, they had to drain the sump and reinstall 7 quarts of fresh ATF. Typically, I requested return of empty bottles as my way to ensure correct fluid installation.
Imagine my surprise when I return home, examine the labels of empty Mobil 1 ATF bottles and discover that Mercon V compliance designation is missing from all 7 bottles. Returned empty bottles complied with DexronIII/Mercon only.
I immediately called service writer about this. His response was that mechanic had verified Mercon V compliance of fluid, but the returned bottles say otherwise. I plan to follow up on this tomorrow with service manager and request a complete reinstallation of 14 quarts of Mobil 1 Mercon V ATF.
Until then, what repercussions should I expect from running a 50% Mercon/50% Mercon V mix?
