very simple design with half baked flame propagation. built to be much cheaper than the engine that came before it
But super stupid coil design. Guess the Germans don't ever think it would fail.
At least not during the warranty period.
quick to assemble easy to package. the V6/V8 have individual coil packs per cylinder with two spark plug wires which would get in the way.
the mickey mouse unit they designed makes some sense
