Mercedes AMG V8-Production (German Car Factoty)

No plastigage on the rod bearings during installation?

Also the exhaust comes out center of the engine where the intake manifold usually is. Guess not enough room for turbos on the sides.

Plastigage is actually a very rudimentary way of checking bearing clearance

Was that assembler a human or a droid? Totally devoid of any emotion until the last 10 seconds when he attaches his nameplate.

Well, he is German...

The turbos spool faster when they are in the valley. Less distance for the exhaust to travel and lose heat on their way to spinning the spinny wheel.

My 2008 E-350 takes 8.5 quarts. In the US, it's Mobil 1 that's the supplier of oil for Mercedes. At the dealerships it's 5w40, but 0w40 is pretty common at the stores. Strangely enough, the 2011 E-350 only takes 7.5 quarts, same M272 engine but newer body style, W212 vs 211 on the 2008. Both are 4matic but I think it also differs if it's just RWD.
