Hi.
Just done a partial fluid change on my Jeep. It uses the german manufactured 722.6 transmission. I sent some old fluid for analysis.
Viscosity was fine with Viscosity @ 100°C (cSt) 6.07
Copper was high Cu - 335
As was tin Sn - 22
This has been flagged up as possible bronze issue.
Where are Copper, Tin an Bronze likely to be in an Automatic Transmission. I am pretty sure that by 2008 the 722.6 were using bearings and not bushings.
The Transmission runs perfectly. I am just curios as to where the wear metals are coming from.
The fluid i put in was Revenol ATF+4. It is an approved and licensed product by Chrysler.
Any observations would be helpful please.
