My local Menard's had these on the end of an aisle in the electrical section, advertised for only $5.99. I've bought other versions of these (at Rural King) and they were a dismal disappointment and promptly returned.

Being the optimist, I bought one to see how good or bad it would be. For $5.99, my expectations were set low. However, these are really nice for $5.99. I'm going to grab 2 more at this price... if they still have any. I was expecting the 8000 lumen rating to be a gross exaggeration, but it doesn't seem to be.

These throw more light, and with a better spread (and also have a center light), than the 5500 lumen, $30 "Quad Burst" lights that I received last year as a Christmas gift... at an 80% discount.

Thanks. I ordered 6 for the unfinished part of my basement. Don’t love the daylight color but it’ll do for the price!

The only thing I want to know is do they have any RFI suppression, or do they wreck the FM and VHF TV bands?

Well... I don't watch TV. Can't really help you there.

The radio antenna on my Goldwing just happens to be 4 feet directly below it. Can't imagine anything getting much closer to it than that. Local FM stations (5-20 miles) still come in clear. One station (40 miles away as the crow flies) has about twice the static.

So, the answer is no and yes... but it depends. LOL.

Nice - I put up one of these a few months back and it works great

That's a hell of a buy! I would grab a dozen at that price. But unfortunately no Menard's out here. I picked up a 3 panel version of the same at Big 5 Sporting Goods for $12.00 each a while back.

Perfect lighting over my reloading presses. I can easily look straight down into each case, and check the powder charge on all of my progressive presses.

I just had to remove a similar LED light panel from my garage last week. It created so much RFI that my garage door opener transmitters would not work beyond 6 feet from the garage door! Now that I have reinstalled the incandescent light bulb in the garage, the transmitters work up to 80 feet away.

To confirm the RFI emission was the problem, I temporarily reinstalled the LED array as a test yesterday and the range dropped down again to ~6 feet. Needless to say, I immediately replaced the LED array with the incandescent bulb. I might retest with a CFL bulb later today. The garage door opener is a Craftsman/Chamberlain/Liftmaster 1/2 h.p. belt drive unit.

Picked up one today for the laundry room. The walls used to be pale yellow. Now they are brilliant white!

Thanks, mrsilv04!

I was back out at my local Menard's this morning, and the display of these was gone. It had been replaced with some really sketchy/cheapy looking ones for $2.99 each. I didn't even look at those. Looked like they were made from recycled milk jug plastic. No thanks.

When I got home, I checked on-line, and it claimed that the store still had two in stock. I bought those two online, and will pick them up the next time I'm there. But yeah... as I was afraid would happen, the store sold out of them quickly.

Coming up regular price for me. Bummer
Wow. That's odd. I guess I assumed that all of the stores would have the same "sale" items. Here, it shows that it is on sale until COB on 12/24.

Out of curiousity, I searched for Menard's stores on the zip code of 55443. It came up with a "Fridley" store (North suburb of Minneapolis) It is NOT on sale there, and they have 114 on hand. Well, maybe if they'd put them on sale, LOL.

I searched again and it gave me a store in "Blaine". It is also a North suburb of Minneapolis. It IS on sale there, and they have NONE. The two stores appear to be about 7 miles apart on the same highway. Wacky.

So I played the zip code game. My local 2 min drive location has 162 in stock, not on sale.

The one 10 mins away has 5 left, on sale. Now do I chance Menards online inventory? I've been burned before on low inventory counts.

they weren't on sale near me either and I learned some time back when I attempted to buy something "on sale" that the Menard's store that had the items I wanted in stock didn't have them on sale (perhaps why they still had stock) and was told not all stores have the same sales as other stores...
