I used Meguiar's for 25 years and swithced to Zaino for 3 years. The price was killing me so I tried the Meguiar's TechWax 2.0 and Ultimate Detailer - work just as well as far as I can tell and waaaayyy less money.

The Tech/NXT products are definitely a step up from what used to be available in B&M stores, I agree.

NTX is easy on, easy off, and looks nice. However, it still stains trim, and won't protect for long. For even better OTC, try Duragloss or Collinite if you can find them.

For quick stuff it's fine. Longterm I agree, use a sealant like Klasse, Wolfgang, etc.

But for the masses I am glad to see "modern" stuff made available.

Haven't tried the Collinite, but the Duragloss is leaps and bounds better than anything by Mcguiar's.

Meguiars Ultimate Wax and Polish is leaps and bounds better than Duragloss

That's hilarious! Meguiar's finishing waxes are a complete waste of money. Their only good products are scratch removing polishes...

I've tried just about all of OTC waxes and polishes available. I found Rejex, Collinite 476s, and their Insulator Wax to be just about the best. My only complaint about Rejex was the center caps on my Cyclone Wheels flash rusted quickly under the Rejex. It could have also been cheap center caps, thanks Mavis Tire for wrecking the nice set I had on my van.

The funny thing is that every brand has lovers and haters. The best advice is to just try it and decide for yourself since car waxes are very inexpensive compared to many things in life yet some dwell on how to spend so little.

You just have to accept two people can have different opinions about the same product and neither is necessarily wrong.

When you walk through a parking lot or go to a car show, you often never know what they use as their protection products. It really is all about paint prep.

My like or dislike of a product isn't based on the name, it's based on my experience with the product. It just so happens I've used, and still use products that look better and last longer than those from Meguiar's.

And you know what they say

I got turned off to Meguiar's many years ago after using their Gold Class. Horrible results. Hazing that just wouldn't go away.

I finally used some of the NXT when it came out (as well as the 2.0 version). Its good, but for much less money I can get the same level of performance (shine wise) that lasts much longer using NuFinish.

I don't know what THEY say, but I say use whatever you want. It's your money and your vehicle, if you want to use an inferior product, that's your perogative....

The NTX is no better than the Gold. It still looks like vegetable oil smeared on the paint...and it lasts about as long too, which is not very...

Way less money? Up here NXT 2.0 costs $30 a bottle while Zaino is less than $20 a bottle. And even though NXT 2.0 comes in a larger bottle, in the end it works out about the same since NXT won't last as long as Zaino so you need to apply it more often. I love Meguiar's stuff for removing scratches, but for the final step, I switched back to Zaino Z2 & Z5 after a few years of using NXT and NXT 2.0.

Ever since 3M bought Meguiars they have been releasing some GREAT products.

Their new DA Microfiber system is the best on the market. I couldn't believe how easy it was to use.

I use a coat of Collinite Insulator Wax under a coat of 478, and it seems to be very durable. Mine went through the whole winter of tons of rain, including a 5000 mile trip through all kinds of salt and gross, and it's still beading.

I use Rejex on the windows, wheels, and headlights/tail lights. Works well, but it does sometimes give me issues on the windshield.
