That is VERY interesting - I wonder if that relationship applies now in Canada, as right now AFAIK, Mazda Canada is aligned with Petro-Canada for their lubricant needs.

Interesting, however the newer Mazda's spec 0W20, does Castrol make a 0w20?

Yup, they have both a 'Edge with Syntec Technology' (black bottle) 0W-20, AND an 'Edge with LT' (gold bottle) 0W-20.

The 2012 3 with SkyActiv technology ( http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/skyactiv.action ) now takes 0w-20 like that of the 2 .

Well Castrol seems to do it with more than just Mazda. My Triumph motorcycle had a sticker on the engine when it was new that said "Lubricated by Castrol" and in the manual it gives the oil specs and then says "Such as Castrol 10w50"

Interesting except Mazda USA uses Idemitsu to formulate it's House brand 0W-20 grade.
