I am about 1500 miles into my auto rx rinse on my jeep. once completed I am going to run GC with a napa gold oversized filter. I have seen this oil easily go 10-15k and am going to give it a shot it my jeep. However, I got to thinking and here is my question.
I plan on going 10k-12k and changing the filter at 7k followed with a uoa to get a base line.
What if I got a coolant leak, major fuel dilution, insoulubles, etc. ? How much damage could one long OCI do to my relativly low mileage 99 jeep 2.5L (39,xxx miles) with a 4 quart sump?
I have faith that the oil should hold up way longer I am just thinking about the other things that may go wrong. Are long OCI's risky? Although I am not held back by the 3k oci I am concerned about the possibilty of somthing else happening and not knowing about it for 8-12 months.
I know I "could" get a uoa midway through my run, but for the cost I could also just drain and refill my sump with GC and for a few bucks more I could add a new filter.
