Most Bosch VE-pump equipped Cummins B-series engines require a pop pressure of 245 bar (or 3600 PSI ??). The A&I shop manual of the particular Case IH tractor says 245 - 253 bar, while the Bosch injector catalog states 245 - 259 bar for this application. That said, our tractor came with Lucas injectors (NOT THE PODs), but I doubt it is gonna make a difference.
What is considered the maximum pop pressure for these VE pumps, if durability is essential?
I have been thinking about 260 bar on well used, "broken in" springs and 270 bar on new ones. Would that be reasonable?
