Hey guys! Longtime lurker but first time poster here. I'm pretty sure I registered and posted here a few times in the early 2000's when I was researching Schaefer Trans oil for my F250 after BTS built my transmission and used that brand of oil. I don't remember my screen name or email address from back then so I'm starting over fresh. Thanks for all the good information I have found here over the years.

I am looking for a shop in the Fort Worth Area (preferably Burleson/Mansfield area) to work on a 2009 GMC 5.3 lifter problem and possibly perform a DOD delete if the engine condition warrants it. It started with the usual ticking sound, then the oil pressure got pretty bad at idle. It currently has a plethora of various DIC messages present and barely runs. I did an oil flush and replaced the filter under the oil pressure switch and also installed a new OEM GM oil pressure switch at the same time. This helped little for a short time but it is still bad. I have had the truck sitting at the house now like this for a few years now but I am ready to pursue repairs. I have the tools and ability to do it myself but don't have the time or shop space.

Thanks. I sent him a message a couple days ago and I am sure he is a busy guy. I am a new member with zero posts so I would not blame him if he thought it was a spam or scam message and treated it accordingly. So I figured I would try a more global approach to find a shop and started this thread.

He will see this thread since we mentioned him.

PM me as I am in the Waxahachie area about 25-30 min from you (used to live in Mansfield) and my shop does a lot of those - got 2 here now. Problem is we are backed up a few weeks but if you are in no hurry I can help you out.

Does it have VVT?
I'm actually not sure. I'm ok with basic LS3 and LS2 corvette stuff but didn't pay a lot of attention to when DOD/AFM/VVT was implemented on the truck 5.3's. If I remember right there is some sort of plate with a wire connector on it. I'll have to research that and look a bit closer at it tomorrow. I have to head down to the deer lease in way too early in the morning to get some food plots planted so i will check on it when i get back.

Just look at your dash DIC and go thru the menus - there will be a display that says "V8" or "V4" mode.
