I know that this filter may only be available here in South America, but since i took the pictures and always love to see different C&P here, i thought i wil share it anyway.

  • Car: 1994 Chevrolet Kadett - 1.8 SOHC 4 cyl.
  • Fuel: 100% Ethanol
  • Milage and time: 1700 miles and 6 months (Normally i drive more than 2,5k miles @ 6 months, but covid happened)
  • Oil used: Rimula RT4 X 15W40 (SL / E7 / 228.3) HDEO

It was a nice surprise to see that they changed the ADBV to a more traditional silicon type, the last one i used still had the "spring type" design, with a thin rubber on top:

Are you sure that filter is used? It sure looks good.
Thanks for the C&P.

You are welcome!

Like @ZeeOSix said, E100 burns very clean (and smell delicious too). There is no soot to worry about anywhere.

Looks very good. What oil and filter went back in and on?

thank you sir

Thank you sir Stude! The same combo went back in: fresh Shell Rimula (date on bottle 22/06/2020) and the Mann filter, which appears to be a different model again, the can is black (the one i posted was yellow) and the ADBV was grey not white, i guess i will figure out what changed inside on the next OC.

Wait, isn’t 100% EtOH not feasible since ethanol forms an azeotrope with water, hence why Everclear is sold as 95% alcohol?

still, clean filter - alcohol burns clean. I think Mann also sells that filter for Saabs too.

Yes, when i am referring to E100 is just to say there is no gasoline mixture. But the hydrous ethanol, which is the one sold as fuel here, contains around 95% ethanol and 5% water. The anhydrous ethanol, is about 99,7%, but is used only to mix with gasoline.
