Looks like the only difference is that the /1 filter has a pre filter attached to it. Any benefits to running one over the other? On their website it claims the /1 is meant for colder climates…not sure what a pre filter will help with cold temperatures

I always received the prefiltered ones for my BMW. Pre filter media was always junked up with dust and little leaf chips and crap, **** thing was like velcro... Does it make any difference at all? Probably not. Would I buy the prefiltered one again over the other? Why the heck not if they're the same price or like .50c more...

I ordered it from Amazon and it had a $3 coupon for it so it was just under $15

Can't really beat that price shipped, and a return policy like amazon has. I ordered mine off rock auto for like 11$, then I had to pay the **** shipping they charge.. So yeah, like 15$...

I called and talked with Mann and they said it’s fine in any weather, the pre filter will just aid in filtration and make the filter more robust structure wise

I believe the pre-filter is designed to prevent snow from getting into the filter pleats. That's why they say cold weather.

I just saw a video where these two filters are compared, you definitely want the cold climate one if you want a better filter.
