Here's what I did to my bought new 2003 GMC Sierra 5.3L 4x4 with 200,000 miles.

Unfortunately, the truck has to sit outside for the past 5 1/2 years under a dirty Locust Tree.

LOVE this truck & do what I can to keep it running great. It's got plenty of road chips & a good deal of under-door rust, but oh well.

Living in Minnesota, I cannot readily wax it for the upcoming cold weather, so the plan is to do what I can this Fall & see how long it lasts.

Here's what I did:

1) Washed it with Surf City Garage Barrier Reef Wash & Wax. Dual Buckets!

2) Used Griot's Garage Buffer with SCG's "Beyond Clay" Paint Polish.

3) Hand applied SCG "Nano Seal" Paint Sealant & left on for a few hours.

4) Buffed on Mother's FX SynWax.

The LEFT side is what it looked before "Beyond Clay",
the RIGHT side is after Beyond Clay:

Black always looks great with some effort.

Just a pity it looks bad extremely quickly

One reason for the growth in popularity of Silver cars?

Thanks for the pics. Great to know about the Beyond Clay. I really like SC Dash Away for the interior. Gentle yet very effective cleaner with nice scent.

I used the Turtle Wax black dyed wax on my black Rav. Looked great for a couple weeks. Now, a month later, it looks the same as before I waxed it.
