There was a spot on the news over the weekend about home-made stills. The guy was adding something to make the ethanol un-drinkable, therefore making it legal to produce and use for auto fuel.

Ethanol may be the fuel of the future. Just think, after the Mid-East oil runs out, the Arabs will be buying ethanol from us.......wouldn't that be a hoot?

We still have a huge resivoir of oil in the us, only problem the envior-nuts have locked it up witih regulation so we cant get to it. Right now china is building wells in the gulf of mexico that we wont go after.

That web site seems like a really good resource. The idea of distilling your own fuel is really neat, although the logistics of obtaining and fermenting the corn would be problematic for most people.

For the non-farmer it seems like a heck of a lot of work just to make one tankful of fuel.
