A trio of filters I just ordered.

Mahle OX 983 D is for our 2016 VW B7 Passat VR6. Austrian made.

Hengst E61H D215 is for our 2011 BMW E90 328i. Polish made.

Hengst E106H D34 is for our 2003 BMW E46 330Ci. German made.

I've always been happy with Hengst, and I think the pictures show why. I bought Mahle for the VR6 because the Hengst version was out of stock. But the Mahle looks very good as well. The Chinese made dealer supplied VW OEM filter looks terrible in comparison to the Austrian made Mahle.

Pictures are simply FWIW. Enjoy,

Scott

Guess, I've been lucky that my VW filters from the parts department has been mostly Mann-made filters, with the occasional Mahle on the TDI.

Even better when Fram's where re-packaged Made-in-Germany filters, before they shifted production to China for in-house made cartridge filters for my 08 Passat.

Too bad there's no old 3.2L VR6 style filter by Purflux.

That Purflux filter is amazing. Incredible media surface area. I think Ferrari uses this pleat design.

Mini uses purflux as well. That pleat design is awesome. When you cut the media off then stretch it, I was shocked at the size it was given how tiny the filter looked.
