Wow. Just wow. My 3-year old treadmill stopped working. The motor was FUBAR. As I was taking it apart, I've noticed that so many screws were missing! Every single electrical part were Made in China. I remembered paying $50 more for the "deluxe" treadmill. I like and prefer buying products that are made in the USA but this is embarrassing........missing screws, loose parts, all parts made in China.

+1

For a long time Wal-Mart tried to market "Made in USA" products. Unfortunately, these products became uncompetetive over time. Given a choice between a China made product at $60 and a "Made in USA" product at $85, most people will buy the China made product. About the only "Made in USA" consumer electronic product to be successful is Vizio TVs/

Much of the raw products that go into "made in the USA" vitamins are from China. We import large amounts of wheat gluten, honey, high fructose corn syrup and much more. Next time you are at the market check some frozen vegetables, fresh and frozen fish and shellfish..on and on. You will be surprised at how much food and food products we import from China. Concerning the quality and safety of the products? Do a simple search. Make your own conclusions. Below is one link to many of the products available and used in the USA, that are imported from China. Just check where they are from. Again many are from China. Chinese food products

When folks want to make points about the sources of foods, its best to use good information. A post above notes that the US imports large amounts of High Fructose Corn Syrup. Yep, in 2010, the US imported 3,528 metric tons of corn syrup from China (out of the 160,704 metric tons it imported total, most from Canada). The US delivered over 7,896,000 short tons of HFCS for supply in 2010. The chinese imports were less than 0.1% of the supply in the US. All these numbers courtesy of the USDA, as part of tariffs on sugars and sweeteners... That said, yes, there is some food imported from China.

I think all of you missed the point.....the treadmill was made in the USA and it was poorly assembled.

I'm not sure you communicated the point well at all. The first post said "made in China", and your thread title had a question mark in it. So which was it - USA or China?

I admit, I didn't.

So if all these parts were made in China, I assume either the product was misrepresented or it was "assembled" in the USA, which isn't saying much frown
