I know there's been discussion on this type of topic and I tried to search for those messages but had no luck.

Question is this:
Any long term problems forseen using M1 SS in the winter months and then switching to the semi-syth Mobil 7500 for the summer months...and then back to M1SS in the winter?

Just looking at it from a cost basis if it wouldn't affect the seals at all. No real reason for me to run M1 full synth during the summer here is South Dakota. No towing or extremely hot days.

No problem at all. I would do the same, but i put M1 5w-30 in Dec, and i leave it in for 1 year. About 5000 miles. If i put on more miles, i would do the dino in summer.

It really doesn't make sense to do that with synthetics. Just pick one and run it year round.

So your saving $2...is it worth the hassle?

I have to say something here. With the high cost of engines, and gasoline these days, doesn't it make more sense to just spend the extra money on a few measly quarts of really good full synthetic oil to obtain more engine wear protection and better gas mileage? Why would you want to take the chance with cheaper oil just because you saved 2 dollars. I mean, an engine can run what 3 grand on up.

Sorry. Just venting.
