I have a couple cases of the old M1 0w-30 Racing oil and was wondering if it was ok to use in my 07 Mustang GT w/ 24 valve 4.6 V8? This car specs 5w20. Im currently running M1 AFE 0w20 for either 6 month/ 7500k interval. Could the M1 racing go even longer?

It'll work, but if under warranty, I wouldn't do it. Not SM spec, and not right grade. Stick with what you are doing!

Well, the powertrain warranty will be up next March so I was thinking of using it starting then.

Good idea. It should do a minimum of 10k miles, its a good oil, and there have been UOA's on here that have shown it is a good long-drain oil.....

I would bet the engine will like. I've been using M1 5W20 in my 08 GT since new and just recently tried a run of M1 0W40! The engine seems to love it. I've run one tank of gas through it and the mileage was identical to the 5W20 mileage...imagine that.

It sure does seem smoother and quieter so who knows.

I would use the 0w-30 racing oil as a ZDP spiker. Run the regular M1 5w20 and add a quart of the 0w-30 to raise the ZDP level. Just a thought.

Is it this stuff?
