M1 Extended Performance - Group IV?

Researching oils for my next oil change, just bought a new to me Colorado. Is M1 Extended Performance 5W30 a Group IV? I have 105,000 km Powertrain warranty remaining, so I want to stick with a Dexos approved oil. Otherwise, I'd run Amsoil.

The 0W-20 shows the most GrpIV content at ~70%. All the others considerably less. But they are all EP and rated for the same 20k mileage.

Yes, understood. I was making the point that whether majority GrpIV or GrpIII, all Mobil1 Extended Performance oils are rated for 20k miles. I wouldn’t worry about the ingredients if the finished product still grants you the same end result.

Because up here we pay Group IV prices for oil regardless of being syn blend or full syn.

Amsoil is a true Group IV, I may still run it anyway.

If you pay the same for Amsoil Signature Series as you do for Mobil1 Extended Performance, that's a great deal for the Amsoil IF you're specifically looking for GrpIV and IF SS is majority PAO...I'm not familiar with their base oil makeup..

Thanks for the fast reply. Oils are blends to fine tune the end results of the performance needed, PAOs don't have a high film strength [if that is a proper term] seal swell, dissolve additives etc, though they have good low temp performance good high temp performance etc.

What's the cheapest Dexos oil you can find, that's probably the best thing to run in a 3.6, cheapest dexos 5w30 and change it often.

Except when M1 is 45% or 50% off every two to three weeks at Canadian Tire. I purchase Mobil 1 AFE for less than $27 at WalMart a few weeks ago. Sure, if I put zero effort into watching for sales I could pay $65 for M1.....
