My thoughts also. I've used Mobil 1, but wasn't too thrilled with the smell compared to gun oil and you could tell the properties of the oil were different. It works, just like any other lube out there does, but I would rather use the real thing.

Look up or find it how heavy a Thompson subgun is compared to the M1 and get back to me on that. I would gladly lug the Garand all day.
