I have been using the M1 5w-40 for a little over a thousand miles now. I checked it today and the oil is still honey colored. The car runs smoother than before and just keeps getting better. I have noticed no sluggishness from it at all. I took out the Castrol the dealer put in by mistake because I had my own oil to use but they did not look in the trunk to get it. They use semi-synth 10w-30 at the dealership when it says in my manual that 40 wt's are to be used and synthetic at that. I have M1 10w-30 in my truck and have no complaints about Mobils products for German cars.

Sounds like M1 5W-40 Truck & SUV formula. It's the same stuff as Delvac 1.

Thunderchild: Let us know if you experience any extra oil consumption with it. I've used up about 3/4 quart with it, when my car usually uses less than 1/4 quart. I'm not sure if I've got a leak or not, and won't get a chance to see until my next oil change. More input on your experience after a few thousand more miles would be appreciated!

ive been using M1 5w-40 for like almost 5K miles and will most likely be going to 8K or so due to being broke. i will have it analysed. and ive had no consumption from my 00 Golf 1.8T thats driven VERY hard.

I will check the consumption. It was never a problem for me with this car so I will keep an eye on it. The M1 5w-40 is the Truck and SUV oil. It is Delvac 1 re bottled and renamed. The car runs like a sewing machine with this oil. I am impressed by it's effects on the TT.

My car initially consumed more than usual after the switch to Delvac 1, but then leveled off and eventually used less than any other oil I've tried.
