M1 5-30 oil change and Castrol Syntec Blend 5-20 for top offs?

I have a 6pk of M1 5-30SL from the PepBoys B3G3F coupon and a lone M1 0-30qt. My 145k mile old '96 Vic is coming to the end of its 5.5k mile OCI on ValMaxLifeSyn/Bosch filter combo.

It needs a quart every 1000-1200 miles for top offs.

I have 4 quarts of Castrol Syntec Blend 5-20 I bought for $1.50/qt on clearance.

The sump holds 5 quarts. The 6th quart from the pack will be the first qt top off. The second top off I want to use the 0-30.

The subsequent top offs i want to use the Castrol Syntec Blend for 4 more top offs.

That will get me to 6.5k-7k miles, I'll be a quart down, and need a new oil change.

How well will a new M1 5-30 oil change go followed by M1 5-30, M1 0-30, then 4 Castrol Blend 5-20 top offs work?

What do you mean how well will it work? Just use it. You can mix any oil you want. If your car needs a qt that often, after that just dump dino in it. Try an 40wt oil and maybe you can reduce your oil consumption.
