This one is off of my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 4.7 liter. Some of you may remember advice I asked for when I first bought this truck used a couple years ago about which oils to use after I learned that these engines are prone to sludging. I bought the truck with 110,000 miles on it, and from the first oil change I did on it I used 5w30 synthetic, either PP or M1 except for this drain which was Synpower, the truck now has 160,000 miles on it. The oil filter is still a mess despite my efforts of cleaning it over the past 2 years. Its not the mayo type stuff due to the sad valve cover/ pcv/ oil fill design but more of a baked in......well sludge. I was a little hesitant to cut this one open (what I dont know cant hurt me lol), but am glad I did because my fears are now relieved for now.
This was a normal 5,000 OCI with 5w30 Synpower. I noticed only with this oil change it used a bit more then it usually does with PP or M1, almost a half quart compared to the 1/4 quart it usually does. I topped off 800 miles from change time with MMO, and within 250 miles that burned or evaporated off. I will keep an eye and make mental notes on consumption from here on out though, I dont know if it may have just been the Synpower change or what.

The sparklies in the can in pic 3 is the shavings from cutting the can open halfway with a hacksaw as this is a really thick canister and my dremel died halfway.
These pics are of a blot test I did of this oil a couple days ago. I dont know squat about the test or how to read the blot, but decided to do it for fun.
