To those Canadians (myself included...), we CAN! get M1 in the hard to find 0w40, 0w30 and 0w20 here. I now have 2 cases (12l) of M1 0w40 SS in my garage, and close inspection of the bottle reveals ... Made in USA, packaged in CANADA!!!
These are the one liter bottles. See your local HUSKY distributor...

The label also confirms all the Mercedes, BMW and VW specs as well!

Note: My local M1 distributor ( Husky )had lots of old Tri-syn stock on hand, but was happy to order me some SS...nice guy...understood the importance of warranty "approved" oil.

Note: To you GC fans (you know who you are...Ahhh!) there seems to be alot of it around...Walmart, Cdn tire and Partsource all seem to have it...but at the last Walmart I was at they had old, old Syntec (diff. bottle and SJ),Made in USA yellow letter, AND! made in Germany...all on the same shelf!!! What's up with that...

I wonder if there are any Husky dealers in Mississauga? I really hope more places start selling Mobil 1 0w20, 0w30 and 0w40 around here (especially the 0w40)

As far as GC living on the same shelf as older 0w30, that's exactly what happens at my local Walmart. They've got yellow label 0w30 AND very very old 0w30 in the different bottle style. Nobody has bought those bottles, only the German stuff gets bought (mostly by me!) and when all the German stuff is gone, they always put out 6 more bottles of it.

Patman,

Look up http://www.noco.com/canada/

They are the Imperial Oil (and M1)distributor for the GTA. They might be able to help you out, also look for Husky or Mohawk stations; probably don't stock it, but might be able to get it.

FYI - I paid $ 7.35 per liter for the 0w40 M1 ss, compared to $ 6.98 for 5/10/w30 M1 at Superstore, and $6.66 For GC at Walmart.( In Calgary, AB ) I did have to buy two cases min., however. (12 l, no biggee.)

PS - "Boycott" was probably not quite the correct choice of words...!!! To each his own...!

PSS - I got busted SMELLING! a bottle of GC; kinda hard to explain that to the clerk...

HMMMM...
$ 6.66

...something just isn't right here...are you selling your soul for this automotive nectar ??? Lord have mercy....!!!

Yea, I saw that $6.66 price too.
Since we are on the subject, what is the difference between 0W40 M-1 and 0w40 XD-3?
What happened to Delvac 15W50?

I don't think there are any Husky stations in Montreal.

Anyways, I stocked up at Noco, but 0W40 is running at $10/L. Gotta love those extra taxes here in PQ

$10 a liter? Yikes! That's the price I saw Mobil 1 5w30 and 10w30 at another Esso station on the weekend. I can't imagine anyone needing the oil that badly that they'd pay that kind of money, when Walmart is open 7 days a week and they can get it for $7 there.

Guns and butter. You Canadians pay higher prices bc your government has to give you all healthcare. So Patman, start a protest and tell you government to stop supplying a national health care plan and lower taxes so you can buy things more cheap.

Hey, Geeeman: What is the location of your M1 distributor (Husky)? I was using Miller Ag Supply (Imperial Oil distributor) here in Cochrane, but they've shut down this satellite office.
Thanks, Rod

buster,

provincial taxes on petroleum products go to 'road care' in Quebec. Well, actually only 2% of those taxes go towards fixing the roads (hence why we have the ****tiest roads in North America), the rest goes towards 'pension', which as you know basically means, that the money will end up being spent on hotels and casinos and other crap of the sort, instead of on healthcare.

Then they wonder why we have 48 hr waiting periods in the emergency rooms which are operating at 150% capacity.

Same here. And just heard this on the radio, What is it that Canada and Australia have more of than any other country and in that order?? Clue it comes out of the ground.

... natural gas? (No, I am NOT being facetious.)

PS I thought it was the US because we have more Taco Bell restaurants.

Nope, bauxite is the ore from which aluminium is extracted.

Canada is pretty well placed energy wise then. Second largest oil reserves, largest Uranium deposits.

Largest fresh water supply in the world too, lest i be mistaken.

You mean Opal from Lightning Ridge in NSW where most of the 'black' Opal comes from or Coober Pedy, Andamooka and Mintabee in Sth Oz for Crystal opal or Boulder opal from Queensland. White Cliffs in NSW about mined out.
