Are you implying AFE 0W-30 is a semi-syn with lots of VII? Just curious.

AFE has a good slug of PAO.

Also some esters.

This^^^^. Run the 5-30 in the warmer months

M1 0-30 will perform very well year round in any temps.
He already has the PUP 5-30. Just sayin' it's better to run the 5-30 in the "warmer" months in Canada till he uses up the 5-30 stash.

Are you sure?

The SDS only shows 20-30% in the "superior" 5w30EP - not that the sds is accurate TODAY but its all we got on paper.

Ill go hunting. Regardless they barely make a Semisynthetic or technosynthese in Europe

Here it is:

10-20% PAO I would indeed consider a "good slug" and I'm sure is significantly more than anything you are running presently, no? Seems a tad hypocritical.

It just because the general populace hold MoB-Hill ONE in the highest regard. Good specs but Meh or blecchh oil in situ. Just my experience.

I was no Castrol fan of late until the new Magnatec came out.

QSUD may be "better"

Magnatec gives my Nissan explosive** power for you power guys.

but QSUD 10w30 non Dexos would be my GENERAL recommendation for a 5w30.

Yes, because generally their oils perform well and are well certified. Of course how they are based varies significantly, with I believe the EP 0w-20 having the highest level of PAO of the bunch.

I'm not much of one either, however their 0w-40 has great cold performance specs and they recommend it for SRT applications, which is why I am using it. Seems to be a bit of a better damper on start-up noise when compared to the SOPUS SRT 0w-40, but that may be in part due to filter selection this time around as well. Regardless, I'm more inclined to use a Euro lube with a wide range of difficult to obtain approvals and low NOACK to the SRT product, which has higher NOACK and only approved by Chrysler.

One is a lot easier to find than the other

IIRC the 10w30 has a 15deg lower ( colder) wax point or gelation point. Its just the Sweetest oil now in the QSUD lineup.
Shhhh don't tell everyone.

I do under stand your concern with the W rating.

I don't know if the OP uses a block heater regularly at work and home.
Pro'ly should on that motor.
