COMMENTS Everything looks great in this initial sample from your VW GTI. Universal averages show typical metals for VW's 2.0L after 5200 miles on the oil. You ran this oil 6573 miles, and most wear read average. Iron was a bit higher, but it's still okay. The viscosity read on the low side, but this wasn't caused by any fuel or other contamination, and it's really not a problem at all. The TBN read 4.6, still a strong reading. We consider a TBN of 1.0 or lower to be too low. Air filtration is performing nicely (see silicon). Nice engine!

Not bad. These engines seem to show somewhat higher iron readings in general; but all your other metals are very low, so all looks good. Nice TBN for an engine that is hard on oil.

Sticking with the M1?
