hi guys i have a question my local napa has about 50 cases of Lucas Synthectic Oil 5w20 on sale and i was wondering does this oil meet Chrysler MS-6395 Spec i kinda wanna get an insider view before i rush and, thanks guys, Corey

Hi heybob, welcome to BITOG!

Just so you know we don't thick much of Lucas oil here and their 5W-20 synthetic is no exception.
Without getting technical is PDS spec' are pathetic even for a mineral oil let alone a claimed synthetic.
This oil would have to be under a buck/qt before I'd consider it.

That PDS is hilarious! They claim that their 5W-20 meets A3/B4, VW 502.00/505.00, and BMW LL? Wow, just wow.

They also say that if a heavier viscosity oil is necessary to add some of their Oil Stabilizer.

OP - If it's being sold for 5¢ a quart, then I'd say go for it.

all i can say is wow, thanks for the heads up folks, i thought i wanna get a steal on that stuff, guess not today

Unless they're giving it away for free, there are plenty of other quality 5w20s that are not "unknown quantities".

One has to wonder why there is so much fascination with Lucas product. I take my semi to a local Mack dealership in Des Moines that also has a commercial lube shop. They have probably 75% of their entire shelf space loaded up with Lucas stuff. They just can't seem to get it thru their head I want none of it in my engine, as every time I am in there (every 5-6 weeks), they want to know if I want to add Lucas to the oil change. Go over to the many trucking forums and you will be called a freak if you do not worship at the Lucas alter. At every truckstop, there is always a major section in the oil area dedicated to Lucas products. I often ask the other truckers who swear by the stuff to answer this simple question.... "what is unstable about modern engine oils that they need to be "stabilized" by adding Lucas"? I have never gotten any more than anecdotal comments along the line of "I took my engine to 1.2 million without an issue because of Lucas". I respond that I took a '96 Cummins N-14 to 1.4 million without an issue, and all it got for oil was Kendall 15w40.

Now, I have heard some very good things about their fuel injector cleaner product, but that is about it. Forrest Lucas is not going to pay for his name on the stadium in Indianapolis on my dime!

thanks much for all the answers, i bought Valvoline full synthetic, 4.99 QT, and it meets the standard no problem, thanks much again for the support and answers i really appriciate it
