My 1.6L DI turbocharged Juke absolutely DESTROYED oil viscosity. Turned 2 different brands of oil into 5w-20, PU 10w-30, QSUD 5w-30, QSUD in 2000 miles, PU in 3000 highway miles.



How do you know that the manufacturer didn't take this into account when specing the oil? Just because it happened doesnt make it a bad thing.

I do not know if they planned on this, or not.
 
For my 0w-30 Red Line the percentage is 9.

NOACK Evap Loss,
1hr @ 482°F (250°C)

Are there different NOACK tests results being quoted that might confuse the issue?

Yup...That's a good one. $8.66/L at Amazon. Might have to try it.
