Looks like new Pennzoil Full Synthetic is just Shell RGT

How can you say that? It's still within spec. Tracking is not linear and it could stay that way for another 7k miles.
Then prove me wrong
Do your own test and UOA and see how it works out. Do a 7K mile run and let us all see. If it stays in grade after 7K miles then you’ll have the proof that your correct and I’m not.

I bought tons of RGT during the AAP clearance a while back and am running it in my Rubicon. I settled on a 5K OCI using it and have to say the TBN thus far has been between 2.7 and 2.8 at 5K down from 6.44 or a reduction of about 60%. While I realize that TBN is not linear, I cannot see it lasting 10K miles (for example). As far as shear stability, it has been OK dropping 9.4% on one UOA and 6.3% on the other. Time will tell if it continues to trend this way, but thus far, for what I paid for it, I am very happy.
