So I have been with blackstone for quite some time now but it seems like many are saying to try something else, is there anything you guys prefer? I have a sample of 8500 mile 5w40 Xcess Gen 2 that I want to analyze but before sending out to blackstone just wanted to see what you guys think. Here are the previous results that I want to continue adding to the blackstone but willing to jump ship if you guys suggest otherwise.

I have also since switched to Mobil 1 0w40 FS so if I do make the switch out of blackstone, I will likely stay switched out to keep things consistent. I have taken xcessgen 2 results multiple times in a row with blackstone already.

Thanks!

I use the Amsoil ones now which gets done through Oil Analyzers. Most of the testing from Blackstone is OK when I compared mine except fuel dilution. Blackstone estimates somehow while Oil Analyzers does by gas chromatograph.

I sent 2 samples and BS said slight fuel dilution nothing to worry about. OA said look for fuel leak at like 3.5%. I was able to smell fuel in the samples and bottom of oil filter was separating.

You have a good history w/BS so I would just stick to it. However, if fuel readings or other concerns are present then you might try to find an Oil lab that does GC fuel method. Doesn't appear that you're concerned about that though. It would be a bit tricky to compare your history to the new company so I caution against it & just stick with BS.

NAPA and WIX are both processed by ALS Global a world wide company. WIX is available on Amazon.

I think there are only a few companies that actually perform the oil analysis. They offer private label services so NAPA for example can offer oil analysis and it mostly looks like NAPA is doing the oil analysis themselves.

Amsoil is also a private label.

I was using NAPA but hard to get the sample kits so now using WIX. All my history will be carried forward when switching to WIX.
