Looking for Antifreeze recommendations for 2006 Jetta 2.5?

Hello

Two years ago I got a 2006 Jetta 2.5L

I noticed the coolant / anti freeze is a little low, When it is cold it is just a little below the min line.

Looking for antifreeze / coolant recommendations, best if I could get from walmart online or amazon

Me....I get all my VW coolant from the dealer. That way I can get the right stuff.

IT probably took a G-12 coolant originally, but anything G-13 is supposed to be backwards compatible. Probably need Napa or an autoparts store, or of course the dealer.

Walmart should have one of the variants that promises to be compatible with absolutely everything, which should be fine for your small top off. JMO.

A 2006 would've come with G12 from the factory, which is essentially the same stuff as Dexcool, so you could run that, or you could run the new fancy G12 Evo that the VAG group uses now, probably a lot more expensive than Dexcool mind you.

G-12/12 Evo/13 or G-40. And since VW coolants use 2-EHA, I would have no qualms with Prestone either.
