Looking at these Aussie hats - Shannow and others

Can't tell for sure where they are made. Traditionally, Aussie hats were made from rabbit fur felt, but leather has been coming on strong for some time (got a pig leather one myself, and it's way better than crusty old felt IMO)

I bought that hat in brown color. Pretty nice. It is made in Aus. Well constructed, looks good. The Aussie guy told me to spray it with Scotch Guard so the dirt in raindrops won't stain it. I'm a little apprehensive about Scotch Guard but the all Interweb says it's OK.

It's pretty standard to spray leather jackets etc. with scotchgard or similar. Never had a problem.

I wonder if all those hat styles are made in Australia? Getting the genuine article made where it should be makes me want one of these hats!
