Something that could reliably handle 12,000 miles? I had the Fram Endurance in mind but I got some negative feedback here.
I am experimenting with Mobil 1 EP 0w20 this summer. I want to focus on work for a couple of months. With no fuel dilution, I can afford to push the oil.
Thanks

Puro Boss or Mobil 1 extended
Can't never go wrong with Mobil. Getting it now, thanks!

My choice would be the Endurance :)

If you can still get a Full for your car, that would be good too. Napa has severely trimmed down their Full offerings. The Full filters use M-shaped pleats which are supposed to have more media in the same size space.

Premium Guard EX or any of the oil filters that PGI makes with silicone ADBV. Some would CarQuest Premium and some STP XLs.

Frams are having leaky leaf springs and the Purolators just aren’t looking the part anymore with M+Hs current production QC and QA.
Glad I have plenty of wire backed titanium’s and OG ULTRA’s in the stash. Alone with soke federated 14670

Just can’t trust Purolator

Honestly, these A25A-FKS engines are so easy on oil, even with the potential fuel dilution and whatnot from being a hybrid, you could go with just about any filter with a silicone ADBV and be fine. I've done 10k miles on my '19 Camry Hybrid with the same engine, and the oil looked cleaner than any of my other cars after 3k miles, and that was running an OEM Toyota filter with a horrid filter efficiency.

You gave me the confidence to try my first 10,000 OCI ever lol. What oil did you use for that 10k?

I bought the car with 60k miles, now at almost 125k miles. I did a total of three 10k miles OCIs, the rest being 7-7.5k. The 10k OCIs were Pennzoil Platinum 0w16, Valvoline Advanced 0w16, and TGMO 0w16. I know a lot of people with 150-200k miles on their hybrid Toyota's with 10k OCIs at the dealer. I just enjoy getting under the car and working on it, along with rotating the tires more often, or else I would stick with 10k OCIs.

What's your city/highway driving % like?

30% city, 70% highway. I am not surprised you said Pennzoil Platinum. I did 6,200 miles on it and Toyota filter and things looked grrrrrreat. That oil is legit. Had plenty of life left, solid viscosity and good TBN of 5.2.

70% Highway! That's perfect for a 10k OCI. Any and all fuel an water gets boiled off. You'll be just fine for 10k OCI, highway is so easy on oil in comparison to city driving. The hybrid system makes it so it isn't even a 10k OCI. My engine turns off often going 55-75 mph, a football field goes by in a flash.

Yep, engine shut off at 70 mph lol

O yeah, it's such a good system! I got nearly 80 mpg across a two hour trip through a stretch of highway that goes from 45-60 mph throughout. I coasted for multiple miles just slowing down without using brakes, just regenning. Picture below is the second half of the journey after a bathroom break. I've had such a good time working on this engine / eCVT combo. Maintenance is so easy, seldom needs major service, and relatively cheap - outside of spark plugs and Toyota ATF-WS fluid.

My only gripes are that my fuel gauge goes 1/4 past full and 1/4 past empty, and the fuel light comes on with over sixty miles to go.

Good choice as the new Mobil 1 filters are built very well. I believe most are made in the same factory as PGI products. Highline Warren has close ties with PGI and most of their Service Champ filters are made by them.

I also believe quality is important in a long oci. That rules out M+H and First Brands made filters. Efficiency is important to me but I understand others don’t care.

Just make sure you receive a new one. The shelves at Walmart still have a mix.
