2013 Mini Cooper S

Just bought it a few months ago and ready to change oil.

I was going to use a full synthetic 5w30 or 10w30 oil.

In my other cars I use Harvest King full synthetic 5w30 oil but I was told a need a LL-01 certified oil
due to the turbo on the motor.

Any recommendations ??

Congrats on the new car. Definitely want to stick with LL-01 oils. Here’s a short list:

- Castrol 0W-40 and 5w-40 (available at WM... best value)
- Motul x-cess 5W-40
- Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W-40
- Castrol 5W-30 A3/B4
- liqui-moly Special Tec LL and Leichtlauf High tech
- Ravenol has a couple (expensive)

Also recommend Mann oil filters.

If you want something off the shelf Castrol 0w40 is probably best. I would also run a high quality PEA based fuel cleaner in that engine regularly for any possible added benefit it can provide with regard to valve gunk. It would also be a good idea to use CRC GDI/Turbo cleaner spray through the intake regularly as well.

If you are ok with purchasing online go for Amsoil Euro formula for the oil, it's excellent IMO.

Another vote for Castrol Euro 0W-40. Amazon had a deal a while back for $18ish to the door per 5QT jugs. Shop around and you can find a good price on it.

And that being a Canadian market product presents yet another angle.

"Meets requirements" is not the same as having manufacturer approval. I'd stick with Castrol 0w-40 in this case.

No, that "second" language is for the land mass to your right, but is a huge clue that I overlooked. With that said, I know you all do not speak French, I have been to every state in Canada.
