My dad introduced me to Liverwurst as a kid, buttered toast with a slice of Liverwurst and a sprinkle of Pepper on it (open sandwich), enjoyed with a cup of coffee...hmmmmmmm

Also, Pumpernickle Bread, Top and bottom with a slice of onion, some mustard on Liverwurst, one bite, thought you were in heaven...

It's been about 20 years since I had liverwurst. Used to love a smoked liverworst, mustard, and onion sandwich.

I also love the ring style liverwurst that you heat in water. Some call it ring pudding, or another is liver pudding, but it is really a courser liverwurst.

For a real treat, bloodwurst, headcheese or souse. All with saltine crackers. We raid the home style meat markets for these.

I buy liverwurst from time-to-time. I really like it once in a while. My wife however, can't stand the smell.

My mother always made liverwurst sandwiches with mustard and onion on white bread. Never tried it on pumpernickel.

Mother Goose brand.

Liverwurst with red onion on rye!

I had liver spread sandwiches for snacks when I was a youngin'...

The brand, Red Devil.
