I own a Mercedes 1979 300sd(w116) and a Mercedes 1970 280 sel(w108) and just like my Silverado, I need to also replace the differential oil on both cars. I heard that there may be two different type of oils that I can use and it depends on wether or not the differential is limited slip. Where can I find out if my differentials are limited slip?

I'm know expert, but I recall from days gone by where a car I had could have an open diff or one of TWO types of LSD - clutch type or Torsen.
The test given by Megacorp works on a clutch type LSD (which I believe is the norm) but is inconclusive on a Torsen type (which is typically more expensive).
That being said, I also seem to recall that Torsen types didn't require special friction modifiers so for the purposes of selecting a fluid, Megacorp's test will do fine.
FWIW, mine had a clutch type LSD and I used Redline 75W90.

The Torsen diff's don't require a friction modifier because they are no clutches.
