Hi

After getting a used oil analysis back, a slight coolant leak was detected. (high sodium-slight potassium elevation)

This evening, I tore down the upper I/M and retorqued the LIM.

Bolts 1-2-3-4 all were under torqued. I had checked to see that all bolts were at 11 ft lbs and discovered those were loose. They were then torqed to 11ft lbs.

Is this acceptable or is the LIM gaskets toast now?

Gaskets compress, and the bolts don't press down like they used to. Very normal.
Most likely, you did the right thing, and all will be well.

That was a common problem on the 3800 V6. GM released a revised set of fasteners for the intake manifold. There was a recall on this for many vehicles. You might want to check if yours was involved.

Hi

That was for the UIM. My problem was that the LIM bolts backed out.

I have since re-did them using blue loc tite
