To them, "Cheapest oil on the market" might mean the low bidder on bulk delivery of API SM oil from Mobil, Shell, Valvolene, Pennzoil, Castrol, whoever. Business is business. That statement doesn't confirm they are buying substandard ACME oil from China.

AND, how many of us oil gurus here use OEM filters? I bet less than 20%.

If you had an expensive Lexus, would you feel safe if the dealer used cheapo oil and non oem filter?

I used a Fram Xtended Guard (non oem) and Pennzoil Platinum (while not a cheapo oil I did 'buy' it for cheap) in my Lexus. Sleeping at night no problem.

The Lexus dealer I frequent (when I have to) uses Toyota oil filters. Don't know what oil they use in the shop, but you can buy 'Toyota' oil in 1 litre bottles - maybe they use the same thing.

BTW, just got back from the bar, and my friend's cousin's friend's friend visiting from Upper Rubber Boot told me that Megan Fox changes his oil.

BTW Popinski, I'm not poking fun at you, just making light of the fact that you can't always believe what you hear (or read on the internet) and you can't paint all Lexus dealers with the same brush. Maybe your post should have been titled "LEXUS OWNERS BEWARE OF THE DEALERSHIP THAT MY FRIENDS COUSIN WORKS FOR"

Currently I'm running 4 quarts of Motorcraft 10W-30 and 1 quart of MMO in mine, with an FL-910 filter, to do some cleaning up. Afterwards, it's straight onto M1 0W-40 with the same filter.
