Lexus ES330 OCI question

I drive about 7500-8000 miles a year and i am using synthetic oil, usually mobil 1 or redline. The owners manual says to change oil 6 months or 5000 miles. Which of these 3 options below would you choose if it were your car.

1)Change every 6 months regardless of mileage.
2)Change the oil every 5k miles regardless of time.(7 months to reach 5k)
3)Change the oil once a year with a good filter.(~8k miles)

P.S. I know synthetic is overkill for 5k oci but lets not get into that dino/syn debate.

If it were my car, based on the miles you state that you drive, I would do the change every 6 months - oil and filter. Make it simple, July 4th weekend and the week between Christmas and New Years. I have no scientic reason for the 6 month OCI.... just one guys opinion.

Since your owner's manual (the holy grail to your warranty) states 6 mos or 5000 miles, that means whichever comes first. Every 6 months is your minimum in this case, unless something in your life changes where you're suddenly driving > 10K miles per year.
