So, I have about 3 gallons of Sunoco 100 octane unleaded race fuel leftover from an undisclosed experiment. Would this be ok to use in my snowblower, mower, or trimmer? I know people use Avgas all the time in small engines and I think it's 100 octane. I like the fact that it is non-ethanol. I did have some turbo blue, but that was 112 leaded, I know that's out of the question.

Dump it in anything you like NP. The turbo blue as well as long as it doesn't have a Catalytic converter. Its still just gas with higher anti knock index.

I hope your OPE exhaust smells better somehow. But, yeah, rock it. Should be well-stabilized if you want to use it for storage fuel too.

Winter starting could be an issue if you try to run it straight in the snowblower. It's probably lacking the boosted volatility of "winter blend" consumer gas.

People using leaded gas in an application where the exhaust goes right into their face are never going to wise up.

Been burning 100+, leftovers, for a few years in the ope's. I burned some extreme "116-118" this fall in the brothers pusher and my one Genny.
I ran the 4hp 2.5kw Genny at deer camp, full load, 10gallons blend of extreme and sunoco 110. My buddy was like smells like race night, Isaid what you smell something.
Was done building for the season, so burn off the oil reserve. The tappet brother sure quiet to wwhisper in a short order with that lead and twc-3.

We ran some cam2 in a weedeater with Klotz synthetic lube once that we had leftover from my buddies bike. Smelled lovely the entire time we were trimming.

And I'm keeping the leaded stuff away from the ope.

undisclosed experiment?

Just keep in mind that Sunoco 260 has ethanol in it.

In fact, it's rather difficult to find non oxygenated, non ethanol, 100 octane unleaded.

VP fuels makes 2 variants without ethanol, but the older one is heavily oxygenated with MTBE. A brand new, very expensive VP fuel does meet the 100/non oxy requirements. It's an extremely difficult task to make a true 100 octane non oxygenated unleaded that will actually vaporize, start and run.

I'm not sure if Sunoco makes any 100 octane unleaded that does not contain ethanol.

EDIT: Sunoco does not make a 100 octane unleaded without ethanol.

Suggestion: use it in your car.

Hm, I was under the assumption it was non-ethanol. Well the first 2 gallons went in the Jetta, I suppose the other 3 can go in there too.

Just another note about 100 octane Sunoco 260 race gas. While I'm sure it's a high quality fuel, it does contain significant quantities of ethanol. It will not run cleanly in 2 stroke engines and makes a poor choice for 2 stroke race bikes.

It will work perfectly in modern turbocharged cars that have been "tuned" (enriched a bit) to compensate for the high ethanol content.

But because of it's makeup, and yes, it's lackluster performance, some tuners stay away from Sunoco 260 in conventional (ie. high compression) engines. Preferring to use a leaded race fuel that provides better octane and far better throttle response.

If it is aviation fuel it has lead in it, and lead will ruin the catalytic converter, so do NOT dump in in your daily driver.

OK, I totally missed the OP statement that the fuel was unleaded, sorry.
