First post here long time lurker. Anyway I stumbled upon these bad boys while cleaning out an old garage that used to belong to my grandparents. Enjoy!

I remember my Dad occasionally using the LF-1 for our two Ford vehicles in the 1960's. I think he would get the cheapest available at our local auto parts store for his oil changes. I tended to stick with Motorcraft at the time.

Thanks for the pics. Would be interesting to see the media inside. You can tell they all old when all the Nissan's are referred to as Datsuns.

I used to buy them for .77 on sale at National Auto back in the early 80's. They were a decent entry level filter. For a bit more they had Lee Maxi 2 stage filter...Back in the days I had a 1974 Ford Pinto Wagon (2300 cc engine).

I would definitely be open to shipping them to anyone who wanted to cut them open.

Wow, that brings back memories! I am sure I used Lee filters many times.
I really like the fittment listing printed on the box.
I remember using LF-1 on my Datsun PU and friend's 510 engines. East peasy change on the side of the engine, slanted as I recall.
I used the LF-40 on my folk's beautiful '83 Monte Carlo with the little Buick V6. Dinky as I recall....
Very cool.

I'm 18 with a bullet again!

It brings back memories. Lee was the brand my dad always purchased because a lot of the local stores around here carried them.

I remember in the 70's into the 80's, it was either Fram or Lee when it came to filters. They were everywhere.

I used Lee oil filters in my 1972 Fiat 128 SL, bought them at the local Zayre. As many issues that car had, cheap oil filters was the least of them.

Zayre's was a cool department store. I used buy tune up kits, ignition wires, plugs, coils and dist. caps there. They had practically everything when it came to ignition parts.

I used to buy Lee filters at Thrifty. The box was 2 pieces and you could slide on part up to see the filter.
Thrifty what a flash back ! I did some driving for them in the 1970s from their San Leandro distribution center to the northern California stores.

Zayre stores, now that's a wayback machine reference. New England based store chain. Iirc, I bought case or two of Gulf motor oil (cans) and perhaps oil filters there. Reads like the Fiat lived up to the Fix It Again Tony moniker.

Lee 'may' have been first filter I ever installed. They sold a lot of them. As mentioned, back in the day it was either Lee or an orange can.
