Terry Dyson, one of our resident gurus, thinks it is a good idea. I would say it is if you are going to do greater than 6000 mile OCIs. Less than that and I don't know that you need it.
I will admit that I haven't followed GC recently because my lcal supply has completely dried up, but I really don't see what benefit LC would have in GC. GC is about as stable as you can get. I also doubt that LC would have a negative affect on GC. It's your call.
