The Stapleton42 channel has been doing a series on rebuilding one of Lake Speed's old NASCAR engines. They finally completed the project and LS got to drive it around VIR in anger.
Lake SR still races carts to this day. If I get to 75 and can still race a cart, I will be a happy person.
They seem like a cool family.
If nothing else....the sound, if that doesn't make your senses tingle, then you are dead inside. Lots of motors make great noises, from screaming motorcycle I4's to the 4 Rotor in the 787B, but a NASCAR V8 running full tilt is right up there with the best of them.
