Any one have an ballpark figure on labor charge on an 04 Altima?Friend says she paid about $500.00 for new water pump and $80.00 more for thermostat,hoses,belt and coolant.Does this sound reasonable?

That sounds about right when you consider the labor and mark up on parts, shop fee , waste disposal fee (old coolant) ....etc, etc....
my book shows 1.60 hours for R&R water pump for the 4banger.
3.8 hours for the V6 motor.
3.8 hours for the V6 motor.
For a V6 that sounds about right.
wow i have to get out of the engine rebuilding business and do strictly repairs!
I hear that.
Licenses, taxes, rent/lease , water, insurance, heat, electricity, phone, advertising, shop incidentals, manuals and trade magazines, computer software, forms, upkeep, etc. all take a bit out of seemingly high profits.
