I have had the tires and the car since new for 13 months total now. The tires have 26,500 miles on them. They are about 4.5-5/32 I have a 26 mile commute to work 5 days a week. Would you replace the tires now in advance before winter hits or would you ride them through winter and replace them at the end of winter when they probably be at 2/32. All opinions are appreciated. Thanks everyone

The oem tires on those have bad treadlife.

You want fresh rubber before snow.

Honestly given the tires reputation for not lasting that long I am pleased that I could probably go to 35,000 before they were at the wear indicators. They are a 40,000 mile tire I believe so I am not to unhappy honestly.

ram_man, i know sometime money can be tight, but if i remember also you like this car and (especially) your kiddos ride in it at times....

i would start the hunt for good tires (even if not snows): my altimax hp at 5/32 on new snow where not mush(pun intended)/much help in my previous elantra stock...i could not move in 2 inch of wet snow at 10mph
the brand new coopers cs4 experienced rain and snow in the first 500 miles. guess who could drive trough the trucks/semis routs? not the minivans and trucks with blank oem's around me....

all the best and be safe this winter
