Maverik owning Kum N Go will likely be a very significant improvement for customers of Kum N Go.

IIRC- Maverik also owns some refinery assets.

I like that Maverick is expanding, and competing with Love's and Pilot / Flying J, more competition is better for the consumer.

They all have their different things that make them appealing.

I roadtrip quiet often.

I figured they would be sold to Casey's at some point. Kum and Go has sold off lots of their stations to Casey's.

Casey's has been gobbling up stations as fast as they can.

A year after they rebrand, there is a chance that it will backfire on them. Sophomoric humor aside, this is eliminating a institution. Folks may revolt with their wallets.

Think New Coke then back to Coke Classic.

There is a relationship, or used to be between Maverik and Flying J. Same family, I think.

Irving gas stations here keep rebranding the convenience store part. They've tried Blue Canoe, Quick-something, Red Lantern, Circle K. But everyone keeps calling it "The Irving."

Fedex was smart when they noticed people were abbreviating "Federal Express" and assumed the moniker. Smart branding. Same with Fox and "That 70's show"-- its working title was "Teenage Wasteland."

Few to non here eat, use bathrooms, or go into stores, so they could probably remove the services entirely and most all here would not notice.

Kum & Go, the gas station empire whose name has been a source of sophomoric humor for generations of Iowans, is on the way out.

New owner Maverik, which purchased the Des Moines-based convenience store company in April 2023, announced Wednesday it plans to rebrand all Kum & Go stores. Trade publication C-Store Dive first reported the news.

I always thought they needed to build one in Morehead, KY… :ROFLMAO: Seriously, I’m surprised Speedway hasn’t rebranded as 7-Eleven here, their gas price antics have hacked off most of their fuel customers (including me).
