No,I think most of them were exported to New Zealand....heaps of them here.2L diesel - so long as there is power to the shut off solenoid,and it cranks,then it will run.But they have a cambelt,and the later model 2L uses bucket tappets - total destruction when the belt breaks.Over heat them and the head cracks - guaranteed.Toyota diesel heads fail so often people are selling new ones made in 3rd world countries from the boot of their cars - ''Already been crack tested mate!'' Yeah right....why would a new head need crack testing?
Toyota's are tough....but not as good as the reputation would have it.
